What is tear falling?

Tears falling from the eyes is a natural bodily function that occurs when a person experiences strong emotions such as sadness, joy, anger, or physical pain. Tears are produced by the lacrimal glands located above the outer corner of each eye and are necessary to maintain the health and lubrication of the eyes.

There are three types of tears: basal tears, reflex tears, and emotional tears. Basal tears are continually produced to keep the eyes moist and free of bacteria while reflex tears are produced in response to irritants such as dust or smoke. Emotional tears, on the other hand, are produced in response to strong emotions and are thought to have a different chemical composition than other types of tears.

When tears fall from the eyes, they are typically cleared away by the eyelids and drained into the tear ducts. However, excessive tearing can be a sign of an underlying medical condition, such as dry eye syndrome, allergies, or an eye infection. In these cases, it is important to seek medical attention to determine the cause of the excessive tearing.
